Dividend Coverage Ratio

Dividend coverage ratio shows how many times a company's earnings cover its dividend payments. Higher coverage (2x or above) indicates a safer, more sustainable dividend. Coverage below 1x means the company is paying dividends from reserves or debt, which is unsustainable.
